This year, we have all learned to appreciate our loved ones especially: the opportunity to see a dear person finally not through Zoom, but in person, embracing from the heart - that's what is really important. And more and more people are preparing to celebrate the New Year in a warm family circle. Family is the main value for the Italian house Etro. It is not for nothing that for more than half a century it has been ruled by people with the same surname, united not only by a vision of beauty, but also by family ties. A young family also became the heroes of the joint project Bazaar and Etro: actress Ira Martynenko and cameraman Misha Khasaya - one of the most beautiful couples in Russian cinema, which we never tire of admiring.

We filmed Ira and Misha in bright outfits from the Etro autumn-winter collection. All of them are ideal for a New Year's party - even if it is planned for only two, and this time it will not work to escape from the city to your favorite place in the world. And at the same time, together with the heroes, they summed up the results of a difficult, but definitely absolutely unforgettable year.

You love to travel, just like the Etro heroes. But this year, traveling was difficult for everyone. How does it feel for you to sit still? Or did you not have to?

Ira: Of course, I had to sit still. I spent a significant part of this year in Moscow. But this only gave me an extra impetus to do something new. I do not think that this is a missed opportunity to go somewhere - it is an opportunity to turn to yourself.

Misha: Lockdown started in March, but before that, fortunately, we still had time to travel with Ira and Leon. Were in Portugal, Bali, Sochi. I filmed in Spain. Of course, there is a lack of opportunities to travel unrestricted and openly. And I want everything to finally stabilize next year - it can't go on forever.

Where will you go as soon as the opportunity arises? Will you go together - or does everyone have their own dream places?

Ira: It's strange to separate us. For me, there is no particular thrill in traveling without Misha, unless it's some kind of work trip. We would go to the ocean and to London. To London - for development, to water - for pacification.

Misha: In general, right now you can go a lot. You can go to Altai, you can go to Karelia, to Kamchatka - everywhere we have very beautiful places. However, getting there, as well as abroad, can be difficult and expensive.

2020 has become a reason for many to rethink their lives. And for you?

Ira: For me, 2020 was the year of listening to myself. At some point, I got tired of all plans being thwarted, dreams and goals not being realized. I thought and understood - despite the fact that global projects are not working out now, you can do something else. Not that big. And do not put it off until later.

What's the best thing that happened to you this year?

Ira: I started to realize myself in one area that I have long been interested in. Until I say which one! Yes, I speak in secrets today.

Misha: I don’t remember anything bad at all. Every year I want to end on a positive note - therefore, whenever I start thinking about how this year ended, I remember only good events.

How are you going to celebrate the New Year?

Ira: With my family - let's go to my aunt's country house in St. Petersburg. I suspect that there will be a fairy tale, embodied in reality: snow, family, tree, smiles, delicious food … and everyone around is healthy and happy.

Family values and traditions are an important part of Etro's DNA. Have you already had your own traditions?

Ira: Our main tradition was to constantly leave somewhere. There is a time - we pack our bags. But there are no New Year ones yet - we are probably still small. Until we have written it, we try different things and put them in a piggy bank so that there is plenty to choose from.

What are the most memorable gifts you've given each other?

Ira: Misha is a master of surprises. Once, when I was terribly sad, and my parents were still living in Khabarovsk, he secretly brought my mother to me in Moscow - and it was amazing. He knew that my mother's presence would help me at that very moment, and it was incredibly cool.

Misha: We both always surprise each other. Even now, they have not waited for the New Year and have already decided to give gifts - in order, you know, to mark the moment of a miracle. When you wait for something in childhood, you are in the process of waiting for a miracle, some kind of fairy tale. And now, especially for adults, a fairy tale is just not enough. We don't need a reason for surprises.

What is the most important thing in a gift, do you think?

Ira: All the gifts that I just remembered are associated with emotions. It's cool to give each other emotions, not things.

After this year, there are two main ways in fashion: either exchange smart things for comfortable sweatpants - or, conversely, dress up like the last time, even if you go to the store. Which of these paths is yours?

Ira: It's closer to me to dress up. Although you can wear sweatpants with heels - and it will be super!

The next year is already called the brightest and best in life - all the postponed projects were transferred to it. What are your plans?

Ira: It may sound trivial, but I don't make absolutely any plans. It seems to me that everyone will be released next year, the time for changes will come. But there are changes inside - a person, a city, even a country. But making plans outside is still difficult. Therefore, you should turn to yourself. And to act, thinking not about the distant, but about what is nearby - and what can be done here. For this we have been given such an unusual time. At first it seemed to me that someone was stealing my youth. And now it seems that this is a message to all of us - to listen to our desires and dreams.

Will you make wishes on New Year's Eve?

Misha: I, like everyone, probably want to recuperate and health in the New Year. And, most importantly, everything should be good overall.

Ira: As always, I have a lot of things in my head. I won’t say that I’ll guess - I’d better wish everyone something now. Confidence, health - and, please, don't panic!
