Every day there are more and more adherents of plant nutrition. Following the stars, many refuse meat or even animal products - for ethical reasons, for health, as indicated by a doctor, or simply as part of a fasting diet. And although there is still a lot of controversy about the benefits of vegetarianism, the fact that meat is worth eating in limited quantities has long been proven. Therefore, it is still worth all of us to give up animal products sometimes, even for short periods of time: it is good for the figure, and for the digestive organs, and in general for the whole organism.

When switching to a plant-based diet, especially if it happens abruptly, the body experiences stress. To prevent this from affecting your health, during this period, it is especially important to ensure that you consume a sufficient amount of vitamins and other trace elements. Almost all of them can be found in plant foods. At first, you can try using special applications in which you can track the consumed useful micronutrients.

The first thing to remember is, of course, protein. It is found in large quantities in legumes, especially lentils, chickpeas and beans. It is not necessary to eat them in the form of canned food: you can, for example, make vegan cutlets from lentils or hummus, chickpea paste.

All vegetarians also love various soy products. This can be tofu, which tastes and consistency is similar to curd or cheese, or, for example, tempeh, which is more exotic for Russia. In addition to being an excellent source of protein and a number of useful substances, they also speed up metabolism, help in losing weight and remove toxins from the body.

Mushrooms are an excellent substitute for meat. They make any food more nutritious, contain a lot of protein and generally useful substances, while being a low-calorie product. It is for this that athletes and those who are losing weight love mushrooms. And, of course, you shouldn't forget about nuts: they are an excellent source of protein, vitamins, healthy fats and fiber.
