Dallas Contemporary in Dallas, Texas is preparing the first major exhibition of photographer Paolo Roversi in the United States. It will be titled Paolo Roversi: Birds and will be dedicated to his collaboration with Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo, founder of Comme des Garçons. The exposition will feature more than 40 of their joint works, some of which have never been presented to the public at all. The pictures have been taken over the past 40 years - all this time the photographer and designer continue to work together, exchanging fresh creative ideas. The exposition starts on January 30.

According to the organizers of the exhibition, it is intended to show how the famous Italian photographer works with movement, and how the tone has created a unique visual language with the unlikely poses of models that often depict birds in flight. “My collaboration with Rei Kawakubo has been going on for a very long time, every moment of working with her is a new and inspiring adventure. Since Dallas Contemporary often shows different types of art together, I decided that this is a good opportunity to showcase my collaboration with the designer,”explained Paolo Roversi himself.
