Video: Punk Cage, Rough Boots And Sports Jackets: What The "modern Muses" Wear According To Donatella Versace
Donatella Versace is not one of those designers who limit themselves in some way. There is no place for modesty in her collections. A lot of shine, a lot of skin, a lot of naked body - the crazy Italian temperament of Signora Versace makes itself felt. However, the new Pre-Fall 2021 collection came out unusually restrained, if not modest. But this is only at first glance.
At first, the abundance of closed dresses, oversized silhouettes and midi skirts of the A-shaped silhouette is striking. The collection turned out to be unexpectedly a lot of sports, and in the most literal reading: tracksuits with prints, voluminous hoodies and sweatshirts, parks with hoods. Even a new reading of Elizabeth Hurley's iconic dress with pins turned out to be surprisingly closed and modest - and the pins were replaced with elements of “broken” Versace jewelry. Of course, first impressions are deceiving. The further, the more it becomes clear that a place for all the iconic elements of the Versace universe has been found in the collection. There are bright neon shades, and punk cage, abundantly flavored with large pins, and grunge shoes with rough soles, and extreme mini and crop tops that expose the belly. But all this has become, as it were, a little "more mature", or something. Bright jackets and knitwear are balanced with classic black trousers and skirts, and daring leather minis are no longer attached to the branded tall stilettos, but rough and massive punk shoes. According to Donatella Versace herself, she dedicated the new collection to contemporary muses - the people who inspire her. And among her muses, as we know, not only sexy divas are all kinds of people. Then the collection came out so diverse and rich in interesting combinations.
