A rather unusual cargo arrived to Earth from space - as many as 12 bottles of French wine. Take your time to build conspiracy theories: the package was sent to the International Space Station by the staff of Elon Musk's SpaceX company a year ago. They announced this in their official Twitter account. The experiment was carried out to find out how wine will behave in the harsh conditions of outer space. Along with the bottles, there was also a vine in the capsule. Scientists are striving to find new ways to grow agricultural plants to feed as many people on the planet as possible - so it was important to find out the effect of microgravity and radiation on these processes.

For safety, all bottles were placed in steel cylinders and remained sealed throughout the experiment. At the end of February, they will go for testing with a sommelier in Bordeaux, so that they determine how the drink and the vine were influenced by being in space. This is supposed to help in the future to grow the vines in more severe conditions.
