Mercedes-Benz has introduced new additions to the AMG-53 range: the E 53 4MATIC + all-wheel drive coupe and convertible put even more emphasis on the sporty character of the range and, at the same time, on the brand identity. We share the details.
Hybrid cars have an updated exterior and interior: playing with proportions, the body looks more powerful, and the interior looks more solid thanks to the larger displays and the new AMG Performance steering wheel with seamlessly integrated control panels and a sealed rim underneath - a typical feature of sports cars.
All aesthetic enhancements also work on technical performance, such as vehicle aerodynamics and safety. So, if there are no hands on the steering wheel for a certain time, a cascade of warning signals is triggered, which, with further inactivity of the driver, activates the emergency stop system.
As for the interior, the dominant feature is the instrument and touchscreen multimedia displays, which visually merge into one, occupying almost the entire dashboard. Through the AMG menu, the driver can display various indicators on the screen: engine parameters, current gear indicator, warm-up, accelerometer and Race Timer. The finish is inherited from the previous 53 models: the faux leather / black microfiber combination is complemented by red decorative stitching. Mercedes offers upholstery in nappa leather as an option.
