The balcony, as an architectural element of the building, has always been perceived as a stage that royalty, political leaders and pop stars use to interact with the city and the public. In 2019, Alexandra Filippenko, Petr Novikov and Vladimir Pilosyan decided that city balconies could be turned into real theatrical stages for plays and performances, which can be watched from the street. This is how the BALKON festival was born. The second action of the BALKON festival is no longer limited to "home" balconies, but really goes to the city, although again in an online format. Now the stage for the invited artists will be the balconies of palaces and mansions in Moscow: the Gogol House on Nikitsky Boulevard, the Pushkin cafe, the Great Tsaritsyn Palace and the House of Narkomfin. Among the participants of the festival are Yuri Kolokolnikov, Leonid Yarmolnik, Sergey Shakurov, Miriam Sekhon, actors from the Praktika Theater and the Malaya Bronnaya Theater.
