Dries Van Noten never does anything superfluous or accidental. Each of his collections is finely verified, there is never a single way out in it more than its internal logic requires. Therefore, it is not at all surprising that the new season of Dries Van Noten also came out very compact - only 46 men's and women's bows. And this is doubly logical in light of recent calls from Dries himself for a reduction in the volume of collections and a change in the fashion calendar.

From words, the legendary participant of the Antwerp Six immediately turned to action, abandoning male and female shows in favor of one lookbook. Thus, killing several birds with one stone: Van Noten optimized his own schedule, reduced the volume of released items and took care of the safety of fashion editors and buyers from all over the world. And, I must say, such reticence suits him very much: the lookbook came out amazingly beautiful. It was filmed partly against the backdrop of natural landscapes, partly in the studio against a white background. So that nothing distracts us from the clothes themselves - here she is in the main role. And she definitely deserves it.

Van Noten is a unique colorist, with whom hardly anyone can compare in terms of the combination of shades. His collections are always a visual feast with paradoxical and unpredictable, yet surprisingly harmonious combinations of colors, prints and textures. He can combine together those shades that no one else would have thought of, but it always comes out absolutely brilliant - as if nature itself intended it. He did not change himself this time: so, in one of the shirts there was a place at once for blue, pink, purple, yellow and orange colors! Forget the old “rules of three shades” and let your imagination run wild - that's what these clothes are pushing us to. And to listen to your own thoughts and feelings: a draped top in a lime shade with the YOU lettering embroidered with bugles literally screams about this.

In general, three elements became the connecting link between all the looks: fluorescent shades, digital prints and mesh, from which men's and women's tops and longsleeves are made. And there is something very contradictory, but at the same time very harmonious in showing all this riot of electric colors against the background of nature. Van Noten, as it were, hints at another dichotomy, a combination of the incongruous as his favorite technique. And from this, as usual, it only benefits.
