The final day of Paris Fashion Week opened the show of the new Chanel collection, for which Karl Lagerfeld traditionally chose the Grand Palais site. This is perhaps the only thing that the designer has done according to tradition. For the rest, the French classics did not survive the onslaught of the wave of deconstructivism that swept the fashion world. Nominally on the catwalk under the waterfalls in the rocks that grew here with the light hand of Lagerfeld, the entire obligatory "Chanel set": small black and large white dresses, tweed jackets and two-tone two-tone boots, boater hats and bags on a chain, but each of these items now looks completely different. The designer grows a tweed jacket to maxi-size in the dadkor aesthetics, or lengthens it, turning it into a tuxedo dress, and loosens the thread around the perimeter, decorating with fringe. He presents the classic pencil skirt in the form of a hybrid of denim shorts and mini, or replaces it with bicycles, and covers cocktail dresses with ruffles and feathers along the hem with a plastic raincoat case, which is given to tourists at waterfalls.

Further - more: oilcloth does not just cover, but replaces the clothes themselves. It includes boater hats, which are now more appropriate to be called Panama hats, and classic two-tone boots with transparent plexiglass heels, as well as small gloves, decorative collars and shopping bags in the key of "nothing to hide". And only diamonds and pearls in this plastic world remained real.
