


First appearing on the capes of Scottish shepherds and subsequently climbing the fashionable social ladder to the wardrobes of English aristocrats, the “houndstooth” (aka pied-de-poule, aka houndstooth) has always easily adapted to the proposed circumstances. This fall, the houndstooth has proven its versatility again: we saw it in the bourgeois Ports 1961 collection and in Saint Laurent's fetish fantasy.
