Eggs can be found on almost every healthy food list: they are full of protein, vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats. However, many nutritionists are of the opinion that eggs in large quantities are not only unhealthy for the body, but can also seriously harm it. Is this true and in what quantities it is worth eating eggs in order to get only benefit from them, we tell in our material.

To begin with, it is worth mentioning the benefits of the product. Eggs (chicken, quail or duck) are a storehouse of nutrients. Egg white provides the body with the necessary amino acids (more about them here), which not all products can boast of. The yolk is a source of vitamins A, D, E, K (which are perfectly absorbed thanks to fats) and a practically complete set of B vitamins.

The yolk is rich in antioxidants - substances that fight free radicals, protecting the body from damage, slowing down inflammatory reactions, helping to cope with the external signs of aging, and improving the condition of hair, skin and nails. In addition, eggs contain minerals that strengthen bones and joints and stimulate collagen production (we have already discussed other products with this property here).

Eggs are also an excellent product for a dietary diet: they not only provide the body with everything it needs, but also satisfy hunger for a long time, thereby reducing the likelihood of overeating. A 2013 study published in the European Journal of Nutrition confirmed that eating eggs for breakfast (whether it's scrambled eggs, fried eggs, or poached eggs) reduced your risk of overeating by 30% and felt full for much longer.

However, when consumed in large quantities, eggs can harm the body, more precisely, the cardiovascular system. The fact is that along with the beneficial omega-3 acids, eggs contain low-density lipoproteins (bad cholesterol). One medium egg contains about 180 mg of LDL, while the daily allowance is 300 mg. So, unless you want to get heart problems, you shouldn't eat more than one egg every day. Of course, sometimes you can eat both 2 and 3 eggs at a time, there will be nothing critical in this, but you should not do this as a daily habit.
