Video: 90s Style Slip Dress - The Main Purchase Of Autumn

Slip dresses are an integral part of the lingerie style along with the corset. And they, whatever one may say, are much more familiar to us than, say, sconces. Obviously, the combination does not so clearly refer to underwear, besides, there are many more examples of wearing them in real life. And then, like nothing else, they are associated with the 90s - a time that was historically not so long ago, for which many are nostalgic and which almost all designers were inspired by when creating collections for the new season. But it was in the 90s that combinations first became an iconic silhouette through the efforts of John Galliano and Calvin Klein. In addition, there is another explanation for our love for these dresses. The combination is one of the most common clichΓ©s of conventional femininity. The same one that is now undergoing active revision: in the era, when gender discourse is at the very center of the social agenda, there is no getting away from it.

Together with traditional femininity, combinations as its visual display were also revised. They now rarely directly refer to boudoir and submissive, soft female sexuality, as before. This season, only Sylvia Venturini-Fendi decided on such a literal reading: she showed a translucent dress made of black lace, which could be under the clothes of one of the heroines of Federico Fellini's films. The rest of the designers made the combinations much colder, ascetic and detached. They refer mainly to two key directions for the style of the 90s: grunge and minimalism. So, Simon-Port Jacquemus brought Gigi Hadid to the catwalk in a gray dress with complex drapery, which almost did not resemble silk negligee of the 30s and 40s,and Marc Jacobs made combinations of thick wool at all - so they are practically devoid of a hint of their usually inherent sensuality. A homage to Jacobs himself looks like a bow from the Monse collection: a velvet checkered combination with rough "army" boots (we already wrote about them) clearly refers to his famous grunge collection for Perry Ellis in 1993. The grunge theme is developed even further by Donatella Versace, making a black dress with elements of deconstruction. Well, Miuccia Prada makes the combination almost sporty with athleisure elements. The grunge theme is developed even further by Donatella Versace, making a black dress with elements of deconstruction. In general, there are more options than ever. Now these are not only seductive satin "nighties" with lace. It's up to you to choose the option you like.
