From 12 to 24 September on the ground floor of Tsvetnoy department store there will be a pop-up laundry HermèsMatic for “multi-colored washing” of Hermès scarves. Here, completely free of charge, you can update your Hermes silk scarf with a new color: fuchsia, emerald, bright blue or pale pink. We invited Sasha Novikova to experiment with the iconic accessory in front of our photographer's lens - and at the same time we asked the founder of the How To Green project about her relationship with fashion, family heirlooms, traditions and, of course, a healthy lifestyle.
The silk scarf-square was invented by Hermes 80 years ago - and since then it has not only become a classic, but also continues to occupy leading places in the ratings of the most popular accessories in the world. “It's funny that you invited me to take part in this particular project: Hermes is my mother's favorite brand,” Sasha laughs. “No matter what country we are in, we should definitely go to a boutique and see: what if the handbag she has been hunting for is there?” In her own wardrobe there are a little fewer things from the French House - however, my mother is working hard on this: “On one of our last trips together, without expecting it from myself, I bought several things at once: a laconic turtleneck, a sweater and a very beautiful long skirt”. Sasha got another Hermes sweater from her mother, as they say, by inheritance, although she herself prefers to "borrow" things from her father:“I prefer grunge, so my father's collection of vintage jewelry that he brings from all over the world is a real treasure for me. A chain with coins, unusual rings with history - these are what I consider to be our family heirlooms."
The family in general means a lot to Sasha - as well as the traditions that the Novikovs try not to change, no matter what happens and wherever they are in the world. “While studying in London, I flew to all birthdays, including my own,” says Sasha. Even the holidays they mostly spend together - "friends sometimes make fun of me about this." However, the main gathering is invariably associated with the celebration of the New Year. "We arrange a classic feast - with the indispensable Olivier (now, however, with an additional vegan portion for me), TV, chimes.
Together, the Novikovs are preparing for other reasons - or without them. “Dad and I love to experiment, and he taught me a lot. Until now, if I cook alone and something doesn't work out, I immediately call him. " Despite the fact that Sasha's parents are meat eaters, they fully support her passion for healthy lifestyle. “The main thing is not what a person eats, but what quality product. We have never had and never will have junk food, chemistry, or any packaged stuff - in this sense, I believe that we all eat right."
Unlike many, Sasha sees the secret of success in comprehending the intricacies of a healthy lifestyle ideology not in self-restraint, but in finding a balance. “I love food! If I want to eat dessert or ice cream, I will certainly do it: life is one, and you have to enjoy it. Especially when traveling! It's just stupid to be in Paris and not try a breathtaking croissant,”she is sure. As I am sure and that there is no perfect meal plan that suits absolutely everyone. “It is important to listen to your body. I don't eat meat because it doesn't taste good, but if you put me on, say, a raw food diet, I'll break down in two days. Something is suitable for everyone: search - and you will definitely find! ".
