Experts recommend giving up white sugar altogether, and minimizing the use of desserts, of which it is an integral part. It is better to drink coffee in the morning with a spoonful of honey, and replace sweets, for example, with dates. In terms of sweetness, these fruits are not inferior to chocolate, but they contain fiber and many useful trace elements. If you still really want to eat dessert, make it yourself using stevia or agave syrup instead of white sugar.
How much sugar can you eat per day?
According to statistics, on average, we exceed the daily intake of sugar by about two times, which not only provides 300 extra calories (and therefore increases the risk of gaining weight), but can also cause a number of unpleasant health consequences. So how much sugar can you end up eating? There is no minimum threshold for this value, since sugar is difficult to call a necessary product. The body needs carbohydrates, but it is better to use cereals, vegetables and fruits as their source. The upper limit is about 25 g per day, but not more. This 25 g includes not only sweets, but also vegetables, fruits, sauces (it is better to cook them yourself, because the sauce from the supermarket often provides you with a daily amount of sugar at a time).
Of course, if all the foods you consume per day are within the calorie norm, weight gain will not threaten you, no matter how much sugar you eat. But the abuse of sweets can lead to the development of various chronic diseases of the heart, blood vessels and type II diabetes, so the less sugar you eat, the better.
