Video: Cannes 2016: 1970s Fashion Show At AmfAR Dinner
It happened - the long-awaited amfAR charity gala was held yesterday on the Cote d'Azur. The guests were greeted by the hostess of the evening, Karin Roitfeld, on whose initiative this event was once organized, she was also responsible for the traditional fashion show - an obligatory part of the amfAR program. Every year Karin chooses a certain theme that runs through all the shows, and this time it was the 1970s - the era of grandiose parties, bohemian style and the heyday of designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Roy Halston, as well as the young Karl Lagerfeld during his tenure at Chloe. Especially for the show of more than 30 fashion houses, including Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Tom Ford, created looks inspired by the style icons of the 1970s: Bianca Jagger, Diana Ross, Jerry Hall and others. According to the composition of the models that walked the catwalk this evening,an amfAR show could plug any fashion week. Karlie Kloss, Jordan Dunn, Natasha Poly, Irina Shayk, Doutzen Cruz - Karin Roitfeld did not miss the chance to collect all her favorites. The outfits themselves, as expected, very accurately conveyed the atmosphere of a given era - kilograms of sequins, kilometers of chiffon and relaxed silhouettes that do not hinder movement during unrestrained dances.
