Video: The Best Photos Of British Monarchs Of
The last days of December are the best time to take stock. Royal photographer Tim Rook decided to seize the opportunity and on the eve of the upcoming 2020 to choose the best shots of British monarchs for 2019.
Among the top three favorite photos was a photo of Meghan Markle, taken on the penultimate day of the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to South Africa: “This photo attracts me with the way the light falls. It looks like a reflector was used for the shoot, but the effect was due to sunlight. I also love that Megan is looking directly at the camera. Usually, when you photograph royalty, they are surrounded by crowds of people and it is not easy to take a picture without outsiders."

Ruuk's next favorite was a photo of Kate Middleton and Prince William - they were captured leaving the Badshahi mosque in Lahore, Pakistan. The photographer was delighted that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stopped to exchange impressions against a spectacular dark background, and Kate looked like an oriental princess: “The pictures when you visit the mosque are always amazing: you rarely admire the monarchs in headscarves.”
The top three favorites of the photographer are completed by the image of Elizabeth II, who looked in the London Science Museum in March. According to Ruka, Her Majesty's smile is captivating in this photo: "Capturing the Queen with a serious expression is not a problem, but her smile is not easy to catch."
