Video: Fausto Puglisi May Become Roberto Cavalli's New Creative Director
According to a WWD source, Roberto Cavalli will soon have a new creative director - Sicilian designer Fausto Puglisi. In 2017, Puglisi was already mentioned among the applicants for this position, but it was eventually taken by Briton Paul Surridge. Since Surridge's departure last year, the brand's collections have been produced by an in-house design team. Not so long ago, the brand was bought out by a new investor, Hussein Sazhvani, who decided to completely restart the brand. According to some sources, he wants to do this with the help of Puglisi. Representatives of the brand and the designer have not yet given any official comments, but he has already actively hinted at a possible appointment on his personal instagram. So, he posted archival photos of his collections using animal prints - the classic business card of Roberto Cavalli.
Fausto Puglisi was born in 1976 in Messina, Sicily. He founded his signature brand Fausto Puglisi in 2010. His clothes at different times were worn by such stars as Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Taylor Swift, Rita Ora and many others. Also, from 2012 to 2017, he managed to work as the creative director of the French House of Emanuel Ungaro. Puglisi's style is bright, extravagant and sexy, with a lot of decor and animal prints, for which he has been compared to Gianni Versace more than once. We are sure that with such aesthetics, he would fit perfectly into Roberto Cavalli.
