On September 6, six giant giraffes will appear in Moscow's Gorky Park. Made of a material resembling natural stone, animals are a new art object by sculptor Alexander Povzner, created as part of the international project Glenmorangie Signet Land Art.
The artist's installation was inspired by the Glenmorangie distillery, where he saw distillation stills, which employees call "giraffes." “I was fascinated that such mechanisms, important for the production of whiskey, have such lyrical, and not technical, names,” said Povzner.
"Guests" will stay in the park for a year and will replace Nikolay Polissky's "SIGNET", a land art object of tree sprouts, which were placed in the same place exactly a year ago. We are waiting for giraffes to flood Instagram.
