In addition to photographs of the best American documentary photographers from New York's Photo League, exhibited at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, still life photographs by Taryn Simon, numerous works by Viktor Pivovarov and the installation In Our Yard by Rashid Johnson in the Garage and a number of excellent expositions included in the XI International month of photography in Moscow "Photobiennale-2016", there are very, very many reasons to go to museums - we are talking about five exhibitions that are worth seeing in the next two weeks.
Helium Korzhev
Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val (March 24 - June 11)
Seeing the canvases of Geliy Korzhev, the last great Russian realist of the 20th century, is worth at least for the sake of strong emotions and enlightenment: despite the fact that this artist rapidly burst onto the art scene in the late 1950s, he became one of the leaders of the legendary sixties and remained at his best until the end of the 80s, today he was practically unknown to the general public. The first large-scale exhibition of Korzhev included all the works created from 1943 to 2011 and became not an academic retrospective, but "the author's, curatorial view of the master's art."
