Immediately after the significant date, the Gogol Center team is preparing to show the first premiere of 2016 - the play "Iolanta / opus" by Philip Avdeev, Igor Bychkov and Alexander Gorchilin. On February 9 and 10, she can be seen on the small stage, tickets have already been sold: the impressive interest in the directorial debut of Studio Seven actors will force those who have not yet acquired a ticket to wait until the next screenings. Meanwhile, you can watch the premiere of last year - "An Ordinary History" based on the novel of the same name by Goncharov (it will be shown on February 6 and 7). Book tickets to the front row: this expressive performance by Kirill Serebrennikov, nominated for the Golden Mask, looks like a breeze.

On the 13th and 14th, you can catch up and see the main premiere of last autumn - "Who Lives Well in Russia", also staged by Serebrennikov. Other performances loved by the Moscow audience are Brothers, Mitya's Love, Dead Souls, Fairies and Russian Beauty, which are available for viewing in February. According to the artistic director of the Gogol Center in an interview with the TASS news agency, in 2016 we will have nine premieres: the next after Iolanta / opus will be Serebrennikov's new play “Müller's Machine” (March 4, big stage) with Sati Spivakova, Konstantin Bogomolov and Alexander Gorchilin in the lead roles. Another of his directorial work called "Kafka", which tells about the life of the writer, can be expected by the end of June.

In addition, this season we will see the play "Persona" based on the film of the same name by Ingmar Bergman - directed by Lera Surkova, as well as other impressive premieres. Serebrennikov pays special attention to the Zvezda project, which is dedicated to five great poets: we will see the first performances about Pasternak, Mandelstam and Akhmatova this year, and the continuation - performances about Mayakovsky and Kuzmin - in 2017.
