“Everyone around was asking how I decided to take such a bold step, but I didn't understand what was the matter at all. For me, this shot is a symbol of female power,”Louise says now about the scandalous Gucci campaign for the spring-summer 2003 season. the director of the House, Tom Ford, and the author of the provocative shots, Mario Testino, as you know, are not modest. But on the other hand, it is clear that the risky (and uninhibited) photo session played an extremely positive role in the career of the Danish woman: over the past ten-odd years, the fashion world has seen both her high cheekbones and eyes the color of the North Sea.

Pedersen took part in the shows of Prada and Givenchy, was the "face" of Chanel and La Perla, but she still has a special relationship with Gucci. “That campaign was my first big job, and with my favorite photographer too. I remember very well how Testino grinned when I started to move in front of the camera: I was almost unable to do anything at that time, 'she explains. "So yes, I was terribly lucky, but I was generally born under a lucky star." It's hard to argue with this: Pedersen also got into the modeling business by accident. “In my hometown, they never heard of such a profession. The agent saw me on the train when I was going to Oslo to get a job as a waitress, and offered to come to the casting. I agreed out of curiosity - and this is the result."
But she considers her daughter, who was born in 2007, to be her main success. “My husband and I (photographer Arthur Meehan - HB) then decided we needed to take a break from work and do something more enjoyable,” laughs Louise. Now Maya is eight, and she promises to grow into an amazing beauty. “Just don’t ask if I’ll give it to the model - let it decide for itself.”
