Video: BAFTA-2016: Results
Last night in London, the main awards in the field of cinema were presented, as you know, foreshadowing the choice of the jury of the American Film Academy, which will be announced in two weeks at the 88th Oscars. The undisputed favorite of the 69th BAFTA was "The Survivor" Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu, who already took his place at the Golden Globe and the SAG Awards, and now won five awards from the British Academy of Film and Television. Chief among them is the title of the best film of the year. For his role in it, Leonardo DiCaprio was awarded the first BAFTA gold mask in his career, and the actor, this time recognized as the best, dedicated it to his mother. Iñarritu himself was awarded for directing, and his film was also awarded special marks for cinematography and sound.
Best Actress at the 69th BAFTA was named 26-year-old Brie Larson, who with the lead role in the film "Room" managed to bypass Cate Blanchett, Alicia Vikander, and other worthy nominees. Kate Winslet received the Golden Mask for Best Supporting Actress in Steve Jobs, while a similar male award went to Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spy).
Looking at the happy faces of the winners, it remains only to ponder how the opinion of the BAFTA judges will coincide with the preferences of the Oscar jury.
