Working on an endless series of Proposals, Andrei Bogush, a graduate of the Saimaa Institute of Applied Sciences and the Finnish Academy of Arts, catches displays of the "present moment": for this, a computer and a digital camera are used, reflections on the boundaries between an image and a sculpture, a departure from photography and collage to another artistic plane. And today, having shown his experiments in numerous foreign museums and galleries, he is ready to present them to the Russian public: the Osnova gallery is dedicating its last exhibition to him this year.
The exhibition curator Alexander Blanar showed selected works from the Proposals series as a single narrative, the essence of which was dictated by the artist himself. “My work is about surfaces and references. They are not about meaning, but about the work itself, which was done with photography, "says Bogush, talking about how layer by layer carries out a computer transformation of an image, focusing on the" negative field "rather than on the positive. This approach to creating works of art interested not only art institutes, but also Prada: they attracted Bogush to work on the spring-summer 2015 advertising campaign. You can examine the “mutations” of photography in the works of this Helsinki-Petersburg artist from December 11 to January 25, 2016.
