Elizabeth II made an extremely rare public appearance - for the first time in 7 months she left her residence. At the very beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the queen quarantined at her residence. Yesterday she finally returned to her royal duties and visited a defense laboratory near Salisbury to personally open an energy analysis center there. For the visit, the queen chose a traditional monochrome ensemble of pale pink hats and coats, which she supplemented with black accessories: gloves, loafers with a small steady heel and a classic miniature handbag. The coat wore a striking gold brooch with pink stones. During the visit, the Queen was accompanied by her grandson, the Duke of Cambridge, William.
The Queen and Duke were given a tour of the center, after which they unveiled a new commemorative plaque there. They also met and spoke with several scientists and national security specialists who work at the center. Curiously, none of those present wore masks, including the queen and the duke themselves: they had already been criticized for this on social networks. After all, Elizabeth II is 94 years old and the coronavirus poses a great risk to her! Recall that, despite being in quarantine, the queen managed to make a couple of public appearances over the past six months - albeit without leaving her own residence. She first honored Captain Tom Moore with a knighthood for his efforts to combat the coronavirus, and then became a guest of honor at her granddaughter Princess Beatrice's surprise wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
