The performer of the Harry Potter character in the wizarding saga responded to J. K. Rowling following her Twitter post that drew the ire of netizens on the writer. The author of books about a wizard with a scar was accused of transphobia.
Daniel Radcliffe's statement appeared on the website of the Trevor Project, a non-profit organization that helps LGBT people. The actor expressed his regret to people who now began to treat Joan's books differently after her careless statements. The writer was outraged by the phrase "people who menstruate" in one of the articles. She sarcastically remarked that there must be some word to designate such people, twisting the word “women” as if trying to remember the correct designation.

“Transgender women are women. Any claim to the contrary erases the identities and dignity of transgender people and runs counter to all the advice of professional health associations, which in any case have much more experience in this area than me or Joan,”says Daniel.
He stressed that 78 percent of transgender people experience gender discrimination. The actor asked to provide support to such people, and not try to inflict more suffering on them because of doubts about their identity.
Daniel recalled that in her books, Joan wrote about love as the most powerful force in the universe, thanks to which you can overcome any obstacles. He urged not to look for a double meaning where there is none.
